DMG MORI and OPEN MIND Establish Global Sales Alliance to Expand CAD/CAM Software Reach

DMG MORI Co., Ltd. and OPEN MIND Technologies AG have announced a global sales alliance designed to strengthen the reach and adoption of the hyper MILL® CAD/CAM software. The agreement formalizes cooperation across local entities in multiple regions to support joint sales, marketing, and development efforts.

A key component of the alliance involves TECHNIUM Co., Ltd., a group company within DMG MORI. TECHNIUM—responsible for software solutions, education, and e‑commerce in Japan—will partner with OPEN MIND’s Japanese arm to coordinate regional efforts. Already, the Japanese organizations have collaborated for a decade. In early 2025, their US subsidiaries began joint operations, and the next phase of expansion will target markets in Asia and Australia.

The collaboration aims to foster strong local cooperation between DMG MORI’s machinery and automation expertise and OPEN MIND’s software capabilities. Together, they plan to jointly promote hyper MILL®, which is positioned as one of the leading CAD/CAM systems globally.

DMG MORI sees this alliance as a strategic extension of its Machining Transformation (MX) and Digital Transformation (DX) initiatives. It regards software and programming tools as foundational enablers of automation and process integration. By partnering with OPEN MIND—recognized for advanced CAD/CAM and MES solutions—the two firms expect to realize strong synergies in product offering, market access, and customer support.

In their joint approach, both companies will emphasize a “right products to right place” philosophy, striving to address regional needs while maintaining quality and sustainability across their offerings.
